Nipple lights by Naama Arbel
Naama Arbel designer has thought about creating something unusual, yet original that could surprise through uniqueness, and the result came with this lamp collection that are turned on when you pull their nipples.
These weird lamps have silicon covers over the switches and LED light source, so the “nipple” will be turned on by stretching the silicon nipple which activates the lighting mechanism and turned off just the same. Its switches must be pulled outwards to turn the lamps on and pushed inwards to turn them off. All of these five lamps have different amorphous and geometries creatures. The idea of the series was to display a different approach to the interaction of human with lighting, in order to emphasise the human touch and the sensual experience that intensify and generates the general experience.
The Nipple lights are all handmade by using traditional felt techniques, and of course the material used is the felt. It’s based on a simple scheme, being connected by wire to the silicon nipple. I personally don’t like the concept, seem to be to outrageous and also pretty senseless, but it’s something new and different from what we’ve seen until now, referring to a lamp concept idea.
