Taizu – Asia Terranean Kitchen with an Unique Design Concept

The Taizu – Asia Terranean Kitchen is located in Tel Aviv, Israel and it is designed by Pitsou Kedem Architects together with Baranowitz-Amit Studio. The restaurant has a unique design concept. The interior is separated in two main themes - the five elements of ancient Chinese Philosophy (Fire, Water, Metal, Wood and Earth) and the menu.

It gathers together food specialities from different countries and cultures, combining culinary traditions with modern design and hospitality. The interior evokes a sense of Asia without being traditional or too literal. There are traditional elements, a good example being the organic form and texture of the banana leaf, which appears as a pattern on concrete walls. The space is divided into five main seating areas: a lounge area with an informal set up of bar stools along a large, custom-made slate table, inspired by the communal street-food set up typical for Asia. The dining space has energy offering the impression of a continuous movement.

The restaurant enjoys a large terrace furnished with black slate tables, closed off by lemongrass plants, offering an exotic aspect and a pleasant scent. The furniture is carefully chosen in order to give the spaces a classic contemporary feeling.
