Nth Fitzroy House – a Daring Residence designed by AM

Nth Fitzroy House is designed by AM. Architecture and it is located in Melbourne. The residence looks daring like an Infinite Column, heightening itself through the sky into a spatial attempt to build two levels directly on the party-wall.

At the first floor the residence accommodates a kitchen, a dining room, meals and living room and on the first floor, a master bedroom, a work office and en-suite. An important aspect of the house is to separate dining area screened from the kitchen that would still maintain a spatial connection. The kitchen in a timber insertion is elegant and well equipped, displaying modern utilities in a tactile combination of materials – wood nd concrete – in warm colors, to enhance hospitality. During the day, skylights and long windows wash perpendicular walls, so the space receives a reflected and ambient glow of light. The first floor offers privacy enjoying a high pitching ceiling that opens the space up to the sky and nearby the trees.

The bedrooms are white and elegant, private and providing intimacy, but the wide windows maintain the connection with the landscape from outside. Tactile materials combined with ever-changing qualities of light have created a series of interconnected spaces that are a pleasure to spend time in.
